Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist, and competes with the UFC flyweight division. She is the sister of her fellow UFC fighter and an earlier UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports began as a Muay Thai competitor. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and later defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a second medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008, winning gold in 2011 and then was named the 2017 IFMA World Amateur Muay Thak Champion. Antonia started her professional career in at the age of 2003. She was the winner of the WKC K-1 World Light Welterweight Championships in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships in 2016, as well as the WMC World Championships as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's last fight was against Isa Tidblad-Keskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The winner was a unanimity. Antonina Shevchenko made the professional MMA record in 2002 during the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She took the win by TKO during the 2nd round and went on to win her 2 next fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. The result was three wins in her MMA career. Shevchenko took a break from MMA for a time to focus on boxing. She made her return to fight Anissa haddaoui, at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui with a unanimous decision. She defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 in the same decision. She left the promotion in 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina's superior strike skills let her TKO Nievera via knees in the body. Following this victory Antonina was able to sign a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters' finale in which she was fought against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight, after winning her first fight via unanimous decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss and defeated Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke and won the fight of the night bonus in the fight. Shevchenko was a 1-2 winner in her next 3-fights, winning against Ariane Lipski, and then losing to Katlyn Chookagian and Andrea Lee.
